What is an audit certificate, and why keep it?
The signature is the visible part. The certificate is the part that proves it.
- 1. What it recordsSent, viewed, code verified, signed, completed. Each event timestamped, with a privacy-preserving reference to the signer's identity and connection.
- 2. Where the full record livesThe complete log is held in an append-only audit table on Bleinks' servers that application code cannot edit or delete.
- 3. Why the PDF is sealedThe completed PDF is written as a new immutable file. The original upload is kept separately, so both versions can be compared.
- 4. How to use itKeep the certificate with the sealed PDF. If a signature is ever questioned, the two together show what was signed, by whom, and when.
- 5. What it is notBleinks provides simple electronic signatures with evidence, not qualified electronic signatures. High-value or regulated agreements may need more.
